Ooohhhhh, what I just did to a handful of cashews. I took some perfectly raw, bland nuts and turned them into a smoky, savory snack that I can’t stop eating. I should, because one measly ounce stacks up to 157 calories! But they do have some pretty sweet antioxidants, soooo, I’ll just have a few more, what the heck!
I’m not going to write a long winded story about this recipe. You’re welcome! I just wanted to share it with you so you can make them to snack on, or crush and sprinkle on a salad or a dish that calls for a flavorful crunch.
Doctoring up cashews takes a total of ten minutes. So if you’re craving something really good, but you don’t want to dip into the chip bag, make these.
These are the things you’ll need to create this tasty snack. Cashews, coconut oil, liquid smoke, and salt and pepper. I like to use spray oil for things like this because it helps to cut down on the amount of oil that I use. My favorite brand of liquid smoke is Colgin because it doesn’t contain corn syrup like some other brands.
Mix the nuts with the oil, liquid smoke and salt and pepper, then spread them out on a baking sheet.
Now bake them for 4 to 5 minutes or until they are golden brown.
Let me know what you think. I love hearing from you all.
