Cherry Chutney Confit

Indian and French flavors infused in one easy and delicious chutney confit. This delicious condiment is perfect with vegan cheese, on ribz, or spread on anything that requires a burst of sweet and savory flavor.

  • 1 medium Vidalia onion
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 cups pitted tart cherries
  • 1 ½ cups Malbec
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • ½ tsp cloves
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tbsp Honnee


  1. Sauté onion in olive oil for 6 min or until brown on medium high heat
  2. add cherries
  3. cook for 5 more minutes
  4. Add spices
  5. add wine
  6. Bring the mixture to a rapid boil and then immediately reduce to a simmer.
  7. Simmer for 25-30 min, stirring occasionally
  8. Add the vegan honnee at the very end and stir well to combine
