Equipment

  • grill
  • stove

Ingredients

  • 12 Portobello mushroom caps
  • 2 tablespoon vegan butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegan butter
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 slider buns

Instructions

  • Remove the stems from the mushrooms and brush the dirt off of them
  • Heat the butter and oil in a medium sauté pan on medium high heat.
  • When the butter and oil is hot and bubbly use a spatula and spread evenly in the pan, add the mushrooms. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning and salt and pepper on the mushrooms and cook for approximately 5 to 7 minutes then flip them over. Cook for another 5 to 7 minutes or until the mushrooms are soft (not mushy) to the touch.
  • If you’re adding vegan cheese, put a slice on top of each mushroom and cook until it melts. You might want to put a cover over the pan to speed up the process.
  • Put a mushroom on a bun and top with your favorite topping.
  • Enjoy!
