Just in case you haven’t heard, Father’s Day is this Sunday. If you’re fortunate enough to have your dad around to pamper and celebrate, you’re going to want to make his day extra special.
If your dad is like mine was, he doesn’t want presents, he wants presence. A hearty and home cooked breakfast with his kids, a little mini-golf, and a backyard picnic is all he’ll need to make him feel like a king.
You can do that with a little preparation, and I’ve just made it easy for you. All you need to do is choose one, or two, if your dad has a big appetite, options from each of the categories of this awesome vegan food to feed your dad on Father’s Day roundup, to make your dad feel like the amazing man that he is.
Breakfast
Start his day off right with one of his favorites. He might like a savory breakfast or he may be more of a sweet guy, whatever his tastes, I’ve got you covered.
If savory is dad’s thing then he’ll love a heaping helping of skillet fried potatoes with chives.
Or, he might like a couple of delicious sweet potato and tofu breakfast tacos with a side of fruit salad.
Kick start his day with a protein packed vegan breakfast burrito and a side of skillet fried potatoes with chives and fruit.
If he likes to start his day on the sweet side, then a couple of vegan chocolate chip pecan corn muffins might be right up his alley.
What dad wouldn’t like a piping hot stack of blueberry pancakes with pure maple syrup drizzled down the center?
After breakfast take dad out to do something he loves. He’s going to need to work off his breakfast to make room for the delicious lunch you’re going to make for him!
Lunch
Dad’s going to want something manly, but not too filling for his mid-day meal, because he’s going to want to save room for the fabulous dinner you’re going to cook for him, and of course, dessert.
There’s nothing like a good burger, especially this vegan spicy black bean quinoa burger. Yum!
There’s just something so satisfying about a thick and colorful sandwich on toast. He’s going to love this summer sandwich with smoky bacon olive oil.
Is there a dad on earth who doesn’t like a hot and cheesy bowl of mac n’ cheese? Make him this amazing vegan macaroni and cheese and sprinkle it with some coconut “bacon” chips.
He’ll love being served the all American sloppy Joe for lunch. That and a side of chips and a salad make the perfect Father’s Day lunch.
Dinner
Now that you’ve spent the day spoiling your dad and making him feel like the gem that he is, it’s time to make him a beautiful dinner that he’ll remember forever.
If your dad is like mine was, nothing will make him happier than a plate of beer battered “fish” tacos with mango salsa for dinner.
He’d also be perfectly happy with a giant piece of vegan spinach lasagna.
If you want to serve him something a little fancier then you have to make him roasted cauliflower steaks with spicy quinoa.
All dads like to sink their teeth into a good burger, so you can’t go wrong with a red wine portoello burger with mozzarella.
My husband’s favorite Father’s Day meal would be anything Mexican. If your dad loves Mexican food then you have to make him some blue corn tacos with fried potatoes. Especially if you have leftovers from the skillet fried potatoes you made him for breakfast!
