Here is your workout of the week! So, yesterday I did a spin class at our local athletic club. Spin is a fantastic cardio workout that, obviously, works your legs and additionally works your gluteus! According to my bike, I burned over 400 calories in 60 minutes, although it felt like I did a lot more than that! There were about 3 times during the class when I was convinced I was going to puke all over my bike! For me, that’s how I know if I’m working hard.
The only pitfall to spin is the fact that your workout depends heavily on your instructor. Fortunately, for me, I had a fantastic instructor who played awesome music, pumped us up and kept the workout challenging by incorporating arm movements and a mixture of “climbs” (high resistance in a standing position) and “runs” (lower resistance, high RPM). So, I would highly recommend this workout to those who know their instructor will provide an appropriate level of difficulty and keep them interested. One of my major challenges is becoming bored during a workout and giving up, which I am proud to say didn’t happen at all yesterday!
