We’re going to change things up a bit today because it’s National Dog Day!
Today we’re going to celebrate dogs, specifically rescue dogs, like our little Hooper, Coco, and Gizmo. Before we opened our hearts to these sweet little fur balls they were orphans, abandoned, and unloved. Then fate brought us together and our lives were changed for the better, because they bring us so much joy, laughter, and unconditional love each and every day.
In celebration of Gizmo, Hooper, Coco, and dogs everywhere, here’s a fun photo story of Hooper and Coco’s adventure in Chicago. Gizmo didn’t want to go, he was happy to stay home and enjoy the dog days of summer with some peace and quiet.
Personal Creations recently contacted Hooper and asked her if she’d like a personalized overnight bag. Of course she said yes, but she didn’t want her BFF, Coco, to feel left out so she asked for something special for her too. They let Hooper know that they were happy to oblige, so they sent Coco her very own pet carrier so that she’d have a place to sleep when she visited Hooper in Chicago. Hooper and Coco are suddenly big fans of Personal Creation’s gifts for pets and are already hinting for Christmas gifts.
Hooper and Coco Explore Chicago
Coco: Hey Gizmo, look what I got! It’s my very own Diva Den from Personal Creations. It even has my name on it!! I told you Linda likes me more.
Gizmo: Linda, is that true?
Linda: Coco, I love you both the same, stop stirring the pot you little Diva.
Coco: Greg loves me more.
Gizmo: Shut up and let’s go check this thing out.
Linda: Coco, are you ready to go explore Chicago with Hooper?
Coco: I can’t believe you make me sit in this baby seat. I’m so embarrassed.
Hooper: Are they ever going to get here? I’ve been ready for hours.
Coco: Hooper, do you think they’ll make us carry these bags all over the city?
Hooper: Does this harness make me look fat?
Hooper: My kind of town, Chicago is, my kind of town. Just smell that lake air.
Coco: I’m getting hungry, can we be ladies who lunch now?
Coco: Do you have champagne?
Hooper: Is that Stella?
Coco: Um Hoops, those are the biggest and pointiest ears I’ve ever seen. Think we should turn around?
Hooper: Coco, you’re such a cliché right now.
Coco: Really Hooper, you’re telling me that you don’t sniff when no one is looking?
Hooper: I think I’ve had enough exploring today, Coco. I need my beauty sleep. I’ll see you next time.
Coco: Okay, Hoops. Love ya! Drive safe Linda, and try not to hit any potholes. They wake me up.
Gizmo: I hope they don’t come home for a while. I like not having to share the peanut butter cookies.
I hope you enjoyed seeing Coco and Hooper living it up on the shores of Lake Michigan and on the city streets of Chicago. They certainly had a great time. And Gizmo loved having the house and the cookies all to himself.
If you’re thinking about adding a dog or a cat to your family, please consider adopting. Rescue animals are so grateful when they finally find their forever home and they will love you more than you can imagine. Petfinder is a great resource to help you find the perfect friend to add to your family. And don’t forget to check out Personal Creation’s gifts for pets. Alex and I were impressed with the quality of the carrier and the overnight bag, and how much we could fit into it.
Happy National Dog Day, y’all! Now get out there and hug a dog, or two, or three, or…..
Except for the carrier and the bag we were not compensated for the review. All opinions are ours.
