Although it seems like Mother’s Day was yesterday, we’re now onto celebrating our amazing Fathers! Scroll down for some kick-a** recipes your Dad will devour happily and gifts he can unwrap in merriment on this day to celebrate our Dads.
It seems to me like people put a lot more effort into celebrating Mother’s Day than they do Father’s Day. It’s an unfortunate oversight that I’m here to remedy right here right now. I’ve created a menu specifically for my own father who loves three things: spice, spice, and more spice!
If your dad loves spicy food as much as mine does, then treat him to some of these recipes and a cold one and let him kick back and relax. The only heavy lifting allowed on this day is a fork full of good food.
FOOD FOR FATHER’S DAY
Appetizers
Spicy Mexican Hummus
To start off this Father’s Day right, I’m serving up some amazing spicy Mexican hummus! Why? Because there’s nothing the Breakfast King loves more than Mexican food. I mean, who can blame him! It’s so flavorful and satisfying!
Loaded Mexican NachosÂ
Next up on the list for this heat loving man? What else but use some loaded Mexican nachos! They’re piled to the top with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, black beans, corn, mushrooms, and peppers. So not only is this appetizer absolutely delicious, it’s also incredibly filling. Maybe start those apps a couple hours ahead of dinner? Also, dip these babies in your Mexican hummus and you will not be disappointed!Â
Poblano Pepper Guacamole from Great Vegan BBQ Without a Grill
This amazing appetizer round-up couldn’t be complete without some guacamole. This specific guac has an extra special taste because the avocados are actually grilled before making this classic dip! Find the recipe in our cookbook, GREAT VEGAN BBQ WITHOUT A GRILL.
DINNER IDEAS FOR FATHER’S DAY
Grilled Vegan Dirty Rice Stuffed Peppers
Our spicy stuffed peppers are a perfect main course, and we’re serving these up along side some other delicious Mexican-inspired dishes from our kitchen! These stuffed rice peppers are so incredibly spiced and go perfectly with most any dish.Â
Black Bean Spinach Mushroom EnchiladasÂ
For the main event we’re making our black bean spinach mushroom enchiladas. They’re creamy, filled with mushrooms, and are oh so tasty! In fact, I think we’re looking forward to eating this dish almost as much as my Dad is!
Spicy Sizzled Green Beans
Because you always have to have some green on the side, our last savory component for Father’s Day is spicy sizzled green beans. They’re so perfect alongside any main dish and are our little extra healthy bonus for this otherwise decadent meal!
FATHER’S DAY DESSERT IDEA
Chocolate Chip Cookie in a SkilletÂ
This chocolate chip cookie is the perfect way to end the day! Not only because everyone loves a classic chocolate chip cookie, but because no one loves to cook in a good cast iron skillet like my father!
Now that we’re done creating the perfect meal plan for Father’s Day, let’s have a quick chat about gifts!
