Do you love to take a peak into other people’s homes during the holidays? I love taking my dog for a walk at night so I can get a glimpse of my neighbor’s beautiful decorations. I’m not a peeping Tom! If I see any form of a human I divert my eyes immediately, all I want to see is the tree, a mantle, or a dining room centerpiece. I have a hunch that most people are like me, so I’ve decided to open up my home for you to do all of the looking that you want. This year my mom came to visit so that she could help me decorate. This is something that we used to do together every year until my dad’s Alzheimer’s made it impossible for her to get away. It was bittersweet to have her back again because my dad is no longer with us physically; however, this is Christmas, and we know that he’s with us in spirit, and knowing that made decorating my home with my mom feel normal again.
I hope you enjoy my decorations. It takes me about a week to put everything up, but it’s truly a labor of love.
Welcome to Our Home
Hooper is happy to see you!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you turn…
Christmas dinner is always served in here. Every chair is filled with good cheer.
This is my quiet room. My place to escape from all of the holiday chaos.
The family room, where all of the action takes place.
The leather couch was purchased years before I became a vegan. If I could replace it I would, but my husband loves it…
The breakfast room, and the room where all of my food pictures are taken.
Our library mantle, the place where the stockings are hung by the chimney with care.
Alex’s bedroom is decorated and ready for her to spend the night.
We wish you a Merry Christmas!
