Six days until Christmas! Hanukkah begins on Saturday! Life is crazier, and yes, a bit more stressful than usual. Who wants a cocktail?
You do? Well good, because I’ve got you covered. I’ve chosen six of my favorite holiday drinks to help you make it through this week with a big ol’ smile on your face. You can begin your day with a festive vegan peppermint mocha, then recharge mid-day with a creamy dreamy gingerbread cookie smoothie. Once the sun goes down, slip into your favorite flannel jammies and sip on something magical. Alcohol, no alcohol, what’s your pleasure? Pick your favorite drink and let’s relax. Just click the underlined name of each drink to go to the recipe.
Start the day with a jolt of java, mixed with a bit of peppermint and chocolate. If you’re really into treating yourself like the gem that you are, put a nice big dollop of vegan whipped cream on top with a sprinkle of cinnamon and crushed candy cane. In fact, sit down and put your feet up for a minute while you sip away on this delicious homemade peppermint mocha. You deserve it.
Do you crave something sweet in the middle of the afternoon? If you do, then go ahead and indulge, guilt free. My vegan gingerbread smoothie is filled with healthy ingredients that will satisfy that sweet tooth while fueling your body in the best possible way. Of course, you can always make this for breakfast, there are no rules when it comes to smoothies.
As the sun begins to set and your day winds down, treat yourself to something special. I love a glass of hot mulled cider. This recipe is non-alcoholic, but you can always add a little rum to make it an adult only beverage. Yum!
You can’t celebrate the holidays without eggnog! Thank goodness for vegan nog! I love Silk brand nog, and it makes a killer vegan virgin chocolate martini. Just add a little cacao or cocoa powder and rim the glass with crushed candy cane for a delightful holiday cocktail. Add a little brandy to make it all grown up.
Ring in Hanukkah, Christmas, or the New Year with this gorgeous Curacao Martini. This reminds me of white sand beaches and turquoise water. If you aren’t ditching the cold and snow for a tropical vacation, then go ahead and whip up one of these beauties and pretend. That’s what I’ll be doing.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without a big mug of hot chocolate. Make a mug of this spiked peppermint hot chocolate and feel the stress of the day melt away with each delicious sip. Make it kid friendly by leaving out the peppermint schnapps and adding a candy can stirrer.
Enjoy the last few weeks of the holidays, and take care of you. And if you have guests coming over, make one or more of these super easy and delicious vegan drinks.
Cheers to the holidays!
