Vegan Fashion for Wedding Season

It’s the first day of spring, and wedding season is almost here! The time of year when love birds tie the knot and throw awesome parties to celebrate their unions. And we, the guests, get to dress up and look really pretty, drink champagne, and dance the night away. As one who is known for shutting down the dance floor, I can’t wait for the nuptial season to begin!

If you’ve been following the fashion section of Veganosity, you all know that not only am I a vegan, I’m also a fashionista. I love clothes, shoes, accessories, and all things wearable. I am also a stylist and persona shopper, so it’s my job to know what’s on trend and where to find the most awesome clothing that you won’t see coming and going. There’s nothing worse than seeing your outfit on someone else at the same party. Well, okay, there are worse things, but at that moment, it’s a bad feeling.

Because it’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to wear to all of the weddings and other spring events, such as graduations, recitals, Mother’s Day brunch, and spring luncheons, I thought I’d share three of my favorite fashion finds from Pink Tartan.

All three of these pieces are made from vegan leather. They’re soft, feminine, and so, so, so, so, styling. Yes, they are expensive, but they are also very well made, and versatile. That’s another thing that I did for you, I took the pieces to a casual level, so you can see for yourself that these are not just for fancy events.

If you’ve been paying attention to the spring/summer trends, then you know that tea length hemlines are back in a big way. This length can look good on anyone, you just have to be willing to alter it to your height. Off the rack is going to look good on women who are between 5’7” and 5’9”, if you’re shorter, you’ll need to hem, if you’re taller, you might need to let out the hem that’ already there.

Now, on to my Pink Tartan finds.

bridal skirt

This pleated pink vegan leather skirt is pure perfection. It’s soft and feminine, but it can be styled to look very rock n’ roll. For a wedding, or a spring event that calls for a dressed up look, I love it with a soft, cotton lace top, a matching pink heel, and a glitzy bow belt. If you’re going to do it, then do it! Go girly all the way.

Once the party is over, don’t put that skirt away until the next dressy event. No way! Wear it with an edgy black tee, a peep-toe ankle boot, and jewelry that’s anything but frilly. The skirt will soften the hardness of the black. Very cool!

Love is in the air, because I’m seriously head over heels for this pink vegan leather . Can’t you just see Jackie Kennedy rocking this in the 60s? The fabric gives it a modern day feel, the color is soft and lovely, and the silhouette will look good on a stick figure (it will give you the illusion of hips), and a curvy body (it will cover up a heavy bottom area).

For a special affair, wear it with a black bow belt, a pair of black sandals, simple jewelry, and carry a pretty textured bag.

After the party, put a denim jacket over it, and slip on a pair of colorful flats and some bright jewelry. This is the perfect outfit for a day of shopping, or a visit to the art museum.

bridal top

This top is a keeper. The peplum calls for a skinny pencil skirt, like this pretty floral print from Mango. I pulled the blue from the skirt for the statement necklace and bag, while keeping the shoe a basic black. You could belt the waistline of the top with a skinny belt, or you could leave it alone, either one would work.

For a casual look, go with skinny white jeans or faded indigo. A cute, casual shoe, maybe with a little mint green, is also a great option.

I love all three of these pieces, it’s going to be hard for me to choose. Clearly, I can’t get all of them, that would be crazy, right?

Let me know what you think. Which one do you like best?
